Wolfgang Gressmann,
Head of Operations
IASCI’s Head of
Operations,
Mr. Wolfgang Gressmann
joined IASCI in January 2006 and adds substantial operational knowledge
to the organization. In 2005 he assumed responsibility as Head of
Mission of the German Government’s Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW)
to Sri Lanka.
Between 2004 and 2005
he coordinated the Regional Information Exchange Programme of the
Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe. Prior to this engagement he was
the Regional Director for South Eastern Europe of the German NGO
Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB). In this function, he was in charge for
the development and implementation of one of the largest reconstruction
and refugee return programs carried out by an NGO for the European
Commission.

Earlier, he worked in
the field of emergency relief and as journalist, among other countries
in Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Pakistan, India,
Guatemala, Morocco and Egypt.
Mr. Gressmann holds a
Masters degree in Sociology from the University of Hamburg, Germany.
